The starting point of my pictures and drawings is usually a selfmade or found image, or a filmstill but it can also be a story or the lyrics of a song.

Mainly I paint nature and landscape, people and urban spaces.

During the working process observation and imagination complement and reinforce each other untill the point is reached that I believe the painting is finished.

The human figures in enclosed spaces fascinate but often have a sort of discomfort and mysterious about them and can evoke a feeling of alienation.

The urban pictures breathe a desolate atmosphere.

The nature- and landscape-paintings are the result of a never ending search for beauty of our natural living environment that come more and more under pressure.
